Obituary of John F. Murray

John F. Murray, Jr., 69, of Bergen, passed away on Sunday (November 5, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester. John was born December 1, 1947 in Brockport, a son of the late John F. and Marry (Morrow) Murray, Sr. John was a kind, compassionate, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, followed by serving his community for more than 45 years. His shoes will never be filled, but will set a standard for all to follow. We will always love and miss you, but you live on in our hearts. John is survived by his wife, Monica (Kohlman) Murray of Bergen; three daughters, Constance (James) Pocock of Bergen, Amanda (Timothy) Loewke of Bergen and Megan (Chris) Cooper of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley, Colby and Mikaylah Pocock, Brendan Murray, Alexandria and Hanna Loewke, Ian, Joshua, Nicholas and Rylee Cooper; one sister, Kathleen Mayne of Holley and several nieces and nephews. John is the brother of the late David Murray. Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Bergen United Methodist Church, 27 South Lake Street, Bergen. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Rest Cemetery, Bergen.
