Wayne was one of the most interesting, caring and genuine people I have ever met. We met in 1993 when he was tasked with training me how to use bus schedules and the Gateway ticketing program. He was so patient (he told me later he wasn’t sure I would ever catch on). Our industry has lost someone very special. Rest in peace Wayne. I will miss you.
My heartfelt condolences to Wayne’s family.

I write for those much closer to Wayne than I. I had only really become friends with Wayne in recent years; his kindness and sincerity and the joy he brought to his work were just wonderful. I have missed my friend in the days since his passing and could not attend services. I hope that when he got to Heaven a baseball stadium awaited him with all of his family and friends who had gone before him, sitting in the first rows. God Bless.

Great job when he was the manager for the boys basketball team at Batavia High.
Seams like he continued with a great career.

So sorry to hear of his passing, He taught me so much in my early broadcasting career, especially how to call soccer play-by-play. He was a true professional. God Bless you Wayne!

Wayne was a friend for over 30 years. I don't remember where or when we met but it was probably at a NYP baseball game. Besides being the PA announcer and official scorer in Batavia, he would often travel to where the team was playing on the road. It was always a pleasant surprise when I found him at one of those games. We were both avid scorekeepers and would enjoy talking about the teams in the league. He would also let me sit in the press box in Batavia at times and he even let me be a substitute official scorer on one of those rare days when he couldn't attend the game.
One thing I remember was his calling me out of the blue with a job offer at Empire Trailways at a time when I was out of work. I was hired to work in the accounting office and to help him with his various reports. I eventually wound up in the ticket office when Empire Trailways sold out to Adirondack Trailways.
Wayne was a good friend and I will miss him.

I extend my condolences to the family of Wayne Fuller. I met Wayne a number of years ago when various bus companies held a scheduling meeting in Quebec City in early February. I was amazed by Wayne's knowledge of what seemed to me nearly all the bus schedules for North America, for all the major carriers! Over the years I have been in phone contact with him from time to time. Unfortunately we never met again in person. Wayne had a calm voice and I am sure he was that way in general. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I worked in the accounting office of Empire Trailways (now NY Trailways) from 1980 to 1995. Wayne was always my "go to" guy. He knew all the routes, all the regulations, all the mileages, and of course all the drivers and ticket agents. He was also a good friend. His attention to detail and his insistence on quality work was always appreciated by all of us in accounting. We enjoyed many lunches and talked about everything. His love of baseball, trains, buses, and travel were always foremost in his mind. He did love pizza too! I talked to him recently and he was still the same funny wonderful guy. Wayne, you were one of a kind and will be missed by many people including me.

I probably met Wayne when I was two years old because our families were both members of the First Baptist Church, and he and I are the same age. I have so many fond memories of Wayne that I couldn't begin to share them all--but he was a presence in my life right up through high school and beyond. His mother and my stepmother were sisters, so we ended up spending time together outside of school as well. When my dad and stepmother were dating and first married, they used to go out to dinner with Wayne's parents after church on Sundays--and they would hand us $20 and tell us to go find something to eat on our own. We often went to Mancuso's Restaurant because we both loved Italian food. Since moving away from Batavia, I only saw him at high school reunions, but he always referred to me as his "cousin." I will miss him at future events.

I had the pleasure of sitting in the press box with Wayne for many Batavia Clippers games. Wayne was kind, smart and funny. He was an absolute pleasure to be around. He embraced life - and especially sports - but never took things, or himself, too seriously. He will be greatly missed.
