Moose was very much a part of our life. He went to Ficarella's every day, our son Nick is the owner. He would go around 11am, go through all of his papers. Sometimes he would get something to eat, most times not. Nick didn't care, he always welcomed him.
He would leave around 1pm. It was like a second home to him.
We go to the Pizzeria every Friday night, and Moose would put reserved signs on the booths that we and friends would sit at. All had a good time with him. He sure was a one of a kind, if you knew him you would agree.
This past Friday was the 1st time without Moose, not the same .he will be missed.

The “Losers” have lost their leader. As a former ball player for Moose I will remember all the good times we had playing in Batavia and around New York State. As our manager he would book games against any team regardless of where they were. One booking was against the prisoners in Attica, in side the walls 12 months after the trouble their. He was a special person and if he like you he was your friend, and if he disliked you “Look Out”?? Hundreds of ball players will miss him along with others. He is now on the big field in the sky. Rest In Peace as the Big Winner in the sky. Tom and Max Weiss

Bob and family - I was saddened to hear of your brother's passing. "MOOSE" was quite the Batavia and Genesee County character. From work at Graham Manufacturing and Pontillo's Pizzeria to being the "czar" of slow pitch softball for several decades, then onto his hanging out and holding court on antiques with Peter Terry at Peter's Treasures - he always had a story and was right in the middle of all the action. So many people can tell their own personal Moose stories that a book could barely contain. I personally learned much from him in my years working with the local softball leagues and owe him a great debt. He was a dedicated guy who cared a lot and left his community a better place to live, work, and play. Peace and blessings on him and your family. May he rest in peace....

Moose was a close family friend whom I have fond memories of as a child right trough my adult life. As I think about all stories and good times we shared it puts a smile on face and always will when I think about Moose. Rest in peace my friend.
