Condolences to the Bausch family on Don's passing. I worked with Don for
many years with WESCO out of the district office in Syracuse. He was a very
motivating person who always made us laugh. Great sense of humor, who could
immediately break any tensions in a room.
Remember his love for the Buffalo Bills and of course his passion for golf. May
he rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was truly an outstanding person. I enjoyed working with him during my 4 years at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. He never missed a beat, always had a great comeback, and made us all laugh while we planned an executed a successful golf fundraiser each year. He was someone I admired, learned a lot from, and will surely miss.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time.
Sincerely,
Tiffany

Grandpa had a way of making everyone love him. He always cared for others more than himself. He woke up early everyday to get the most out of life.
The day he passed away we woke up at six so he could teach me how to fish. He did it with my brother years ago.I’ll never forget the look he gave me when I came up the stairs to get him, glasses halfway down his nose and he was looking up at me with the newspaper in his hands. We didn’t buy any bait the night before so he brought down a bag of hotdogs and sausage from the night before. He baited one hook I baited the other. He threw the cast out, making sure not to get his feet wet. He walked back to the chairs put the pole back in the ground. He tried to fix my glasses, and when I figured out what he was doing I told him how my head has a tilt and isn’t symmetrical. He said he had the same thing. We talked and talked, fed the crabs hotdogs and sausage, and Laughed about the dogs walking by eating the pieces scattered around the beach. My dad (Scott) came down took a picture of us and he went back up. Every time I cast it he would give a thumbs up and a smile. The reason we went back up was because the hooks came off. On the way back up to the cottage he told me about the tuna he caught off of Oregon Inlet. Not sure how it came up but I asked him if he had any regrets in life. He said “ I’m not gonna tell you any of my sins” and laughed it off. That was some of the last quality time I had with him and is something I’ll never forget.

I interviewed my grandfather in 2009 for a paper I wrote in college. Which ironically he saved all these years In his desk drawer which I found last night. In his own words he told me his biggest accomplishment was being married 45years (now of course 54 years), children and grandchildren. He considered his business career to be very successful. His biggest fear daily was that is children and grandchildren would not have the values, morality, family and comfort that he had enjoyed. He stated his role as a grandparent was to only give guidance and direction that he could not force an action or belief. That he had to try to set the right example through his actions everyday. Involvement, giving back was very important, church and volunteer. He said a grandparents wisdom can only be departed through a dialogue based on a feeling of love and confidence in each party, that comes from understanding and taking an interest.
That is what he did he loved each of his grandchildren to death and took an active interest in our lives. From watching Craig's new house being built, watching the boys play basketball, going to swim meets, visiting his grandkids at college. Helping guide his grandsons careers in the electrical business. Providing endless support no matter what. Making sure we celebrated everyone's birthday together every year. Going to church together as a family. Family was everything to him and he loved all of us grandchildren to death. He would do anything for the eight of us.

Grandpa was a role model in every aspect he took his work seriously and his family even more so it seemed like everyone worth knowing knew grandpa and respected him I've learned a lot from him and since his passing I've become more motivated to be more like him and be someone my family and friends can count on just recently I decided to try my hand at golfing so I talked to grandpa about it and although he was amazed that I would have any interest in it I'll never forget how excited he was to help me out he was so excited that we might be standing on the fairway together and bonding over the sport he loved so the set me up with some old clubs and a bag that he seemed very attached to and I was off foolishly enough of me I wanted to get some practice in before going out with him so that it wasn't to embarrassing and so I never made it to the course with him but he was always happy to give me pointers when I told him how I was doing my grandfather lived a good life and I'm thankful for every minute I've spent with him but I wish more that anything I could play 18 holes with him I'll never play a game again without thinking about him looking down on me and most likely picking apart every shot

Personally I got to spend a lot of time with my grandfather living with him in the summer of 2017. A lot of people probably don’t know, but he watches a lot of jeopardy, and knows way more about random geography facts than Anyone could imagine.
For all 20 years of my life I got to be around him at all sorts of sporting events, country clubs, and work related events. The one thing that I found most amazing about my grandfather is that no matter where he went or what he was doing he always made people smile. Friends, family, or anyone else he met he had the ability to have a positive impact on the people he met, as well as the environments he was in.
It does stink that he is gone, but it happened quick and in the place he would’ve wanted to be.

I just remember him picking me up from North Carolina and talking with him. The 11 hours I spent with him and grandma talking about his life and business was the best time I ever had with him and it made me realize how happy and accomplished he was as a person. Every minute I spent with him was cherished because there was something special about him as a grandfather.

I remember grandpa Bausch as being a huge role model in my life. He was my go-to for advice regarding my life choices. He was always right there with a loving hug and words of wisdom when I needed a little encouragement. I always told him about how much of a hero I felt he was to me. I was his "Mandy Lou" . He made it possible for me to learn so much about the history of the United States. With either walking the battlefields of Gettysburg, Touring president eisenhowers estate or visiting the light houses of The Outter Banxs . I will forever feel so blessed for grandpa sharing his love of the beach with me. Of all the things I remember most about him was, I remember him as always wanting to make sure all of us in the family were taken care of as I know he still will from heaven.

We are sending heart felt prayers to you all. Don was a great man in so many ways. He loved his family and grandchildren.
It’s hard to lose a loved one. God will help in healing the emptiness you all feel at this time. It will take time but the true healing is through good memories of great times spent together. These memories will bring a smile to you face but also a tear to your eye. Hold fast those good times and memories. God Bless you all.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time. Don was certainly a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
We met almost 45 years ago when the children were at Holy Family school. We served together on the parish council and the home school boards.
When I left Holy Family and went to the Philippines, we continued to be friends.
Mostly, during my difficult times in the Philippines I heard his voice in my head, “Sister, smile!” Believe me, it got me through a lot.
Don was a very dear friend, I shall miss him but know he is with many loved ones in heaven..
To Joan and all the family, I am so sorry for your loss and sorry that I cannot be there in person. I shall be there in spirit.
All my love,
Libby
