Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Signore

Batavia - Elizabeth Mary Signore, 98, of Batavia, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at New York State Veteran's Home, in Batavia.

Mrs. Signore was born February 10, 1920 in Franklinville, a daughter of the late Emilio and Mary (Battistoni) Catto.

 An Auburn, NY native, she was a member of the Ascension Parish - Sacred Heart Church and the former St. Anthony's Church, was a former Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed history and religion.  She loved to read and cook. 

She is survived by her husband, Lucian Joseph Signore, whom she married on November 23, 1950, 3 children, Thomas E. Signore of San Francisco, CA,  Elizabeth (Thomas) Simms of Bath and James M. Signore, PHD of Richmond, CA; her  granddaughter, Emily Simms of Bath and 4 generations of nieces, nephews. 

She was the sister of the late Lewis Cato, William Catto, Arthur Catto, Jenny Burkhardt, Alice Petrus and Lena Steele.

Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co, Inc., 403 East Main St., Batavia.  Elizabeth’s Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ascension Parish - Sacred Heart Site, 15 Sumner St., Batavia.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Auburn, NY on Monday at 12 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., P.O. Box 23581, Rochester, New York 14692.
