To Deb and all of Tom's family: I am so saddened to hear of Tom's untimely passing. I knew Tom and Deb through my work at USDA. I will always remember Tom's great sense of humor; his willingness to listen in his role as a union leader; his great smile; and his "spinning the discs" during our off-time at our State meetings. May you find strength and comfort in your faith, in family and friends; in reminiscing about the happy times and the laughs you've shared over the years. Tom left a positive imprint on so many lives. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sincerely, Elaine Benjamin

We are sorry to hear of Toms passing, but God gained a great angle. We meet Tom through Debbie about 18yrs ago and he made you feel like you were one of the family. they also played at our daughters wedding too. And of coarse Tom and Debbie being friends fit right in with all that was there. Our prayers are with you and your family. God bless

I'm a bit behind, I just now found out about this. This is sure sad news.
Tom was a long time friend who shared a love of music. He was a strong supporter, and often a willing helper with the bands I've played with thru the many years I've known him.
Sorry to see ya go my friend.

Tom will be missed by many at St. Rocco's Italian Festival. He said he enjoyed working at the Festival as much as we enjoyed him as our DJ. He not only played music but did a great job with the announcements and the jokes to keep the crowd going. A great man to work with. We will miss you Tom. Our deepest condolences to the family.

Tom was a man that we could always depend on. He started off our 4th of July celebration as our parade announcer,(for more then 10 years) and kept over several thousands people entertained with his sharp wit and a super personality. After the hour plus parade he and Debra would set up on the school grounds and play music to the many thousands that were on the grounds to enjoy the Fourth of July. The Lyndonville Lions Club will miss him dearly.

I am shocked and saddened by this untimely passing of Tom. He truely was One of A Kind. What a zany character he was, and you are right he could get things going and make the whole room fall apart with laughter. I worked close with Tom when I first began with Rural Development back in 1998. He was the Batavia Office Area Specialist at that time . He and I both started off as construction inspectors. He moved into different areas of work but still liked the construction aspects and trips to the jobsites.. He was a card, he knew all the good spots to get lunch , shop for cars or find cheap tools. He had a story for everything. He could have written a " Sit Com". When ever he was with me we laughed like crazy- That is how I will remember him. He always called me "Curly" even though I am bald. What a Nut he was. I'll miss him.
To Debby and Tom's Mom and children I am so, so , sorry for your loss.

You will be surely missed Tom. You definitely made some lasting memories. Your heart was big with love for those around you. You cared about everyone you interacted with. You spoke up, unafraid, for others. You humored many. Working with you was never boring. Yes, you put many a smile on faces. May your family remember those happy times and your giving nature. My regards.

Tom was a very sentimental and caring man. He loved to make everyone laugh. He was very charitable. When he would Dj, it didn’t matter what the event was, he also made sure he made tribute to our military. He had a beautiful soul. He loved his children, grandchildren very much. Tom we all loved you and you will be sadly missed. Fly with the angels....

Tom is the reason Genesee County Dances for Adults with Developmental Disabilities ever came to be. Those dances continued for 14 years from 2001 - 2015. When I initiated the dances I inquired about a DJ that would volunteer his time. I was given Tom’s name. I called Tom and he happily came to the Gilliam-Grant Community Center where I was interning and he DJ’d that dance. As I was thanking him at the end of that dance he instantly said, “When is the next one?”
That question was the beginning of our friendship and a volunteer project that united an underserved community. The dances moved to the Byron Fire Hall around year three and the Byron Ladies Auxiliary became the sponsor. Our firemen would set up the hall the day before and many of them also volunteered and interacted with our dancers. Soon our families and friends would also volunteer.
The dances were themed and the hall decorated for each dance. Whether it was a Country Western, a Sock Hop, Valentines, PJ or Christmas dance, Tom would help pull that theme together with music and sometimes even costumes! The 3rd Thursday each September - May for 14 years Tom and I, with the help of many other volunteers, provided a much anticipated safe and natural social event.
Tom so loved working with these folks that upon his retirement he got a part-time job driving a van for ARC. He would joke and kid with everyone. We all loved Tom and looked forward to seeing him each month. He and his wife, Debby, not only gave of their time but also many times donated money and gifts for our dancers.
Regardless of Tom’s injuries over the years he would rarely cancel, even if he had to limp in. Tom lived to make others laugh. His humor was contagious. His passing will strongly sadden the dancers he grew to love and the rest of us and his whole community will feel his loss. I know that in addition to the dances, Tom volunteered in many different ways for our Fire Department events, his beloved town of Stafford’s events and most any other notable cause over the years.
Because of his government position, Tom often rubbed elbows with high ranking government officials, but was always unimpressed with their positions or power. He had an outgoing personality, and spoke his mind; always favoring the underdog. He would take the time to listen, especially to our dancers. He treated them, their staff and families with utmost respect whether at the dances or out in the community.
I wish there were more people like Tom, the world would be a much better place!

Dearest Deb and Family-
I will miss Tom greatly- he was bigger than life in so many ways. I will always remember when things were getting entirely too serious at work, he would appear out of no where to lighten the day. I cannot say enough about his good nature, his generous and loyal spirit and that he expressed true friendship from the heart. I often told him he wore his heart on his sleeve and I meant it.
Always know that whenever he could share the love he had for you and family he did; he cherished all of you. God Speed to mend your broken hearts...Love to all Denny and Cindy Newcomb
