I have so many fond memories of Ellie. She was intelligent and could carry a conversation with anyone. Ellie had a keen wit and wicked sense of humor which in later years, she may have used to deflect attention away from her mounting health issues.
Ellie was the one who took Gail and I to all the "away" basketball and football games. I also remember spending a week together on Lake Ontario. Ellie picked us up from school activities and on late Friday nights, from the Pizza Shoppe. Back then, Ellie drove a little convertible. I don't know the make or model, but I remember that even though that little car wasn't always warm in the back seat, with Ellie's laughter and good companionship, it always felt cozy. I enjoyed time with Ellie, she was FUN. I remember playing Jeopardy (the Dorfs had a home game with clickers!), and hearing her playing "old" records like the Four Seasons.
In later years, when I met with Ellie, she was still a smart (ass), friendly and easy to talk to and laugh with.
Ellie will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Gail, I can't imagine how heartbreaking it is that Ellie passed on your birthday, but the more I think on it, I imagine Ellie is probably pretty tickled that you won't ever forget her on your special day.
My love and sincere condolences go out to all of Ellie's family and friends. Blessings!

I was so blessed to take care of June at dialysis. Even though we grew up in the same little town, I did not have the privilege of meeting June until she was ill. We had many wonderful conversations about the Elba community and her family. June was always a joy to take care of and our clinic will miss her immensely. She was so very kind to other patients and appreciative to the staff. My sympathy and prayers to you Gail and your family.

I was so blessed that June Ellen made the effort to attend our Elba Central School 55th Class Reunion on May 31, 2019. I didn't see June Ellen often after we graduated since I have lived in California for 50 years. It was always a joy to talk with her. She will always be fondly remembered by all of her classmates. I know she has gone home now to be with God. Lynda I thank you for helping your sister to join us that Friday night. Please accept my condolences for you loss. I know June Ellen is in a better place now with no more sickness. God Bless Lynda and Gail and the rest of your family.

My deepest sympathy to her family & friends.
June-A was a dear family friend. I have so many childhood memories of her. There was hardly a week that went by that she didn’t stop in for coffee. She loved any flowers & kittens, 50’s & 60’s music & her movie marathons with her Davy. I remember the time she took me to Friendly’s for a Reese pieces sundae and she made me close my eyes when they brought it, so she could see the surprised look on my face when I saw how huge it was. All the car rides & dinners with Lisa & I . She drove me to church on my wedding day. She was a great friend to so many! May she Rest In Peace.
Love & God Bless,
Stacy Foote Scharlau

Linda and Gail and family. June and I were friends about 20 years. We used to play lots of cards and June and I went to supper quite a bit. Bohns was our favorite then. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this very sad time. My friends from corrections are slowly being taken to heaven to be with GOD. Again so sorry for your loss. When I heard was stunned. May GOD bless you and keep you.eG7i5
