Obituary of Mary Ellen Monachino

 

Kenmore/Batavia - Mary Ellen Monachino, 92, of Kenmore and formerly of Batavia, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

 

Mary Ellen was born June 24, 1927, in Green Bay, WI, a daughter of the late William and Sophia (Haugen) McDonough.

 

Mary Ellen was a member of Resurrection Parish and a registered nurse at the former St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Survivors include her children, Dennis Monachino of Beaver Island, MI, Cynthia Monachino of Kenmore, Julie Monachino of Kenmore, Patrick (Ann Marie) Monachino of Aldan, PA and Thomas (Daun) Monachino of Batavia; grandchildren, Crystal Fletcher, Mary Regina (Colson) Howard, Christopher (Ashley) Monachino,  Megan Monachino, Maria Monachino, Brian Monachino and Matthew Monachino; great-grandchildren, Brayden Howard and Mason Howard; a brother E. Anthony (Mardee) McDonough of Sydney, Australia; a sister, Charlotte (Richard) Sanderson of Ocala, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen is the wife of the late Patsy Monachino.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to  7:00 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia.  Mary Ellen's Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia.  Mary Ellen will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.
