Obituary of Guy F. Young

BATAVIA - Guy F. Young, 83, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo.

Guy was born August 15, 1936, in North Tonawanda, the son of the late Frederick and Lora (Warner) Young.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a cook at the V.A. Medical Center in Batavia.

He is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Smith) Young, whom he married on May 10, 2002; 3 daughters, Linda (Carlyle) Bump and Kim (Robert) Barkley both of Batavia and Rebecca Gualtiere of Canandaigua; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

Friends may attend service at 2 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at City Church 210 East Main Street in Batavia, with Pastor Marty Macdonald officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Guy’s name to City Church, 210 East Main St., Batavia NY 14020.  Private burial will be in Stafford Rural Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home of Batavia.
