Michael was a very good friend to my husband Roger and myself. After Roger passed Mike would frequently call me to see if I needed anything and assured me that if I did to just let him know. He and Roger spent a lot of time together during baseball season. Being they could both be set in their ways they would lock horns now and then on how things should be done on the softball fields. But that is okay they just wanted them to be the best they could be. Mike is now in heaven with his heavenly father and has earned his eternal rest. May he rest in peace.

Christy and family,
I am so sorry to hear Michael's passing. He and I hung around a lot when we were young. I was always getting into fights, but never with Michael. He was a kind, gentle kid as I remember.
I know he will be missed, but there is a blessing waiting for you. God is good!!!! He will hold you and your family tight in His hand and comfort you each day you seek Him. I I prayed just now for God to protect you and your family, to hold you up, and to supply all your needs.

Dear family,
Sorry to hear of your loss. It is also a loss to all of Genesee County. I first met Mike while playing softball back in the '70's and quickly became friends with him. Mike was hard not to like with his outgoing personality. It was always a pleasure to see and talk with him. His dedication to softball kept it alive for many years and gave so many people the enjoyment of the game and opportunity for friendships to grow and continue for years. I know that Mike was so much more than just softball and loved his family and community immensely. Peace & Blessings.

I am so sorry to hear of Michael's passing and for all that you, his family have been through. My prayers are with you all. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
I have one memory of Michael that has meant a lot to me. A few weeks before my husband Gene passed away, in church Pastor asked for any who needed prayer to raise their hand, so I raised mine. A man I did not know came up, laid his hand on my shoulder and prayed. Then he wrote some scriptures on a piece of note paper and began to assure me that I did not need to worry about finances and that I would be OK. At the time finances were the farthest thing from my mind, but within a few weeks after my husband's passing that changed. I didn't know whether I would even have a roof over my head. But then I remembered the Word and the scriptures the man in church had given me and I stood on that until everything was settled. I don't know whether that was a Word of Knowledge or a Word of Prophecy, but I am sure that the Holy Spirit spoke through him that Sunday morning. There was a name printed on that note paper - Michael Sabatino.

When I saw Mike Sabatino's name come up in the Batavia obituaries my heart sunk as I immediately recalled the many good times spent with Mike playing as well as administering slow pitch softball leagues around Genesee County. He was such a flamboyant guy and his colorful personality really came out in sporting activities, including harness racing at Batavia Downs.
Peace and blessings upon Mike and all of his family.
