I got the pleasure of meeting Dave back in March of 2005 and I have to say, He was always the kind of guy that would come in and brighten my day. I started a new job as caretaker of Godfreys Pond then and He was the first person my wife met there. Immediately she said "you have to meet this guy I met in Wal-mart "(and guess where He was…..in the fishing section.) From that point on, I considered Him family as He would come visit the pond every day and share His life experiences and try to encourage me through God's word. He took my boys out fishing and taught them how to use a bait caster and then showed them his fishing techniques. Countless days, He would call me up from out in his boat(on the pond) and have me meet him at the edge so I could get a picture of his latest catch. There are few people that you run across in life that can touch your life the way He did. I will miss you Dave because you were a true light in this dark world that we live in. You will forever remain a big part of my family and I will never forget you. God Bless you Dave and I can't wait till I meet up with you again my friend.

I only had the honor of meeeting brother Dave a handful of times. In the few times that I did meet him, I could say he loved the Lord. He only wanted to glorify his Savior to anyone he met. I believe he is in heaven.

I first met Dave several years ago at the local barber shop while he was showing photos of recently caught bass. It didn't take long, and Dave made you feel like you knew him for years. I invited him out to fish our pond and
he was soon a regular visitor.
We happen to own a dog "Pete" that would rather fish than hunt so Dave and Pete were soon fast friends. While I did fish with them, Pete always stayed with the person who caught the most fish, which was always Dave. Even though Pete has a penchent for jumping in the water everytime a fish is caught, and scaring away any chance for future sucess at that location, Dave tolerated him and soon he seemed to enjoy that crazy dog. When Dave would arrive on his next visit, the first thing he would always say "where's my dog Pete?!", with great enjoyment.
We sure will miss Dave, he was always a perfect gentelman and friend- Tim and Carole Grooms.

The entire family will miss David and no one more than Nancy, Jill and Faith, but all of of his family and friends should always be proud and feel honored to have known him and loved him. One thing my wife and I want all of us to remember for the rest of our lives is that David constantly prayed for all of us during his life and he is praying for us now. There is no need to search for answers; there is no reason to ask ourselves questions, there is no need to feel anything but love and joy because David has truly loved the Lord and because of that he has blessed our family for generations by his life. May he rest in peace and love and enjoy the treasures God has prepared for those who loved him. Amen.
