Obituary of Kathleen Ann Cintorino Grasso

Rochester - Kathleen Ann Cintorino Grasso, 70, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Shorewinds Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family under the care of VNS Hospice.

Mrs. Grasso was born February 14, 1947 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph "Mickey Devine" Cintorino and Jennie Pirro Cintorino.

Kathy was employed for 40 years as a resident rental agent for a large firm in Rochester. She had attended Continental Beauty School where she was employed as a hair stylist. Kathy was a fabulous cook and often times her family remarked that she should teach a cooking show on TV - this was long before the popular cooking shows of today. She would make lavish meals during all holidays fit for a king and queen. She used to say her grandchildren “come visit and graze" as she made them special meals.

She is survived by her husband, Richard P. Grasso, Sr.; her granddaughters, Marlaina and Isabella Grasso; her brothers and sister, Anthony (Marsha) Cintorino, Nancy Jo Cintorino (David) DiSalvo and Joseph (Kristine) Cintorino; her sister-in-law, Betty Ann (Felix) Nash; her brother-in-law, Joseph (Carol) Grasso; her aunts, Delores (Don) Torcello, Rita (late Sam) Pirro and Carm (late Ralph) Cintorino and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

She is predeceased by her only child, a son, Richard Paul Grasso, Jr. on June 14, 2002 at age 34 from leukemia; her sister, Annette Cintorino Darch; nieces and nephew, Dawn Marie Cintorino, Dawn Schlenker and Mark Schlenker.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Shorewinds Nursing Home and VNS Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Kathy.

There are no prior visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National MS Society, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Suite 900, Rochester, New York 14620.
