Obituary of Jean M. Doody

 

Batavia - Jean M. Doody, age 90, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she had been a resident.

Mrs. Doody was born November 12, 1927 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Orley and Elsie Heywood Dean.

Jean graduated from Batavia High School in 1945. Along with her close friends, she helped plan many class reunions and kept records on all her classmates. Jean was the receptionist for Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation for 16 years, until her retirement.

She was married to Ray Doody who passed away on March 5, 1998. Together, they owned and operated Doody's Sweet Shop from 1953 to 1963.

She is survived by her sons, Edward (Linda) Doody of Batavia and Douglas Doody of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Edward (Mary) Doody of Pavilion, Patti (Jose) Arroyo of Batavia, Lisa (Sam) Antinore of Batavia, Kyle (Carolyn) Doody of West Seneca and Allison (Ross) Marranca of Clarence; ten great-grandchildren, Christopher Doody, Jay and Chase Antinore, Zoey, Mazey, Brody and Jaxon Arroyo, Addison Doody and Michael and Samantha Marranca; two step great-grandchildren; Kelsey Arroyo and Maeve Borden and several nieces and nephews.

Her sister, Vera Lindsley, passed away in 1997.
