Obituary of Sarah C. Lukaszewicz

 Batavia - Mrs. Sarah C. Lukaszewicz, age 92, of Batavia, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Brothers Of Mercy Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Clarence.

Mrs. Lukaszewicz was born April 15, 1926 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Salvatore Orlando and Sarah Denare Orlando.

A 1944 graduate of LeRoy High School, she was a 1948 graduate of the St. Jerome School of Nursing through the United States Nurse Corps. Mrs. Lukaszewicz worked for 33 years at the Batavia VA Medical Center as a registered nurse. A member of Resurrection Parish, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

Her husband, John J. Lukaszewicz, passed away on October 7, 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lukaszewicz of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lukaszewicz was the sister of the late Anthony, Thomas, Sam, Joseph and James Orlando, Mary Trovato and Lena Genge.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Friday at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Mausoleum.
